Veneers can be completed in as few as two appointments.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that fits over the front surface of a tooth to refine its appearance. This cosmetic dentistry procedure is often used to conceal aesthetic issues like:
- Cracks
- Chips
- Stains
- Misalignment
- Gaps
- Asymmetry
At Beam Smile Design, our dentists custom-design veneers that not only hide imperfections, but make minor adjustments for balance and harmony. The result is a picture-perfect smile tailored to your features.
Prepless Veneers
Our Nashville dental practice offers two different types of dental veneers: traditional veneers and prepless veneers.
With traditional veneers, a small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth. This provides room for the porcelain veneer to lie flush with your natural teeth and blend in seamlessly.
Prepless veneers alter the tooth far less; most patients do not even need numbing anesthetic. Prepless veneers are Dr. Nabors' specialty, and dentists from across the country fly to Nashville to learn from him.
Our dentists will help you decide if traditional or prepless veneers are best for your smile during your veneers consultation.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Veneers?
You may be a good candidate for veneers if you:
Are in good oral health
You must be in good oral health and free of dental concerns such as tooth decay and gum disease before veneer treatment. This ensures a healthy foundation for your porcelain veneers. Our dentists offer a range of treatments to help you qualify.
Have sufficient enamel
Traditional and minimal prep veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed to allow the veneer to bond properly to the tooth. Your dentist can determine if prepless veneers may be a better option for your smile.
Are ready for an investment
Veneers are a cosmetic dentistry treatment, and therefore are not generally covered by dental insurance plans. We offer financing options and a complementary Smile Virtual Consult to help you fit veneer treatment within your budget.
Veneers Treatment Timeline
Our secret for a beautiful smile? When designing veneers, our dentists study not only your teeth, but also your lip shape and skin tone.
All that is left to do is enjoy your new smile. If you have questions about the process, we are happy to help.
Prepless Veneer Treatment
Though all our veneers patients start treatment with an in-depth consultation, the placement process for prepless veneers requires only one visit. You can come in for your appointment, we’ll take your impressions, and then we’ll attach the prepless veneers. No enamel removal or temporary veneers are necessary.
If you later change your mind, prepless veneers are removable. Unlike traditional veneers, we can take prepless veneers off your teeth if you decide you don’t like them, and there will be no residual damage to your teeth.
Frequently Asked Questions About Veneers
Does dental veneer placement hurt?
No. Dental veneers are practically painless. If you have a sensitive tooth, your dentist can numb the area. However, most patients do not need this, as only a small amount of enamel is removed.
How long do veneers last?
Veneers are made from high-quality porcelain and can last for up to 15 years. To keep your smile looking camera-ready, be sure to practice good oral hygiene and maintain regular dental visits. It is important not to use your teeth to bite your nails or open packages. The extra pressure can chip or damage your veneers, as well as your natural teeth.
Is there a limit to how many veneers I can have placed?
No. However, this dentistry treatment is best for front teeth, as veneers are thin and cannot withstand the bite force that the back teeth endure. Our dentists can place a natural-looking dental crown to restore the appearance and function of a back tooth.
"Beam smile design is the best cosmetic and general dentist office! Haley and Dr. Nabors were amazing with my veneers. Haley communicated with me ongoing about the process and what to expect. Dr. Clegg is so helpful, kind and patient - she walked me through options for Botox for my clenching/grinding and more. I highly recommend this practice for everything from general dentist needs to cosmetic dental work!! I’m so glad I found them and will be a lifelong patient!" Melissa Culbreth, 2023
